IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry participated in a seminar hosted by Pantheon Tankers Management 3 July 2019. Dionysis Peppas, HSQE Manager, and Capt. Lekatsas from Pantheon Tankers Management opened the seminar. Capt. Theodore Lalas, IRI/ The Marshall Islands Registry’s Fleet Operations Manager in Piraeus discussed port State control (PSC) issues including the most common deficiencies and reasons for detentions. Other seminar topics included safety leadership; health, safety, quality, and environment; technical and crew related matters; operations; and purchasing, among others. More than 65 officers attended the training. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with our industry colleagues in educating, informing, and furthering the discussion on PSC and safety practices.
