Charles McHardy

Mr. McHardy joined IRI as Vice President, Technical in November 2011 and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Technical & Gulf Coast Operations in 2013. Prior to joining IRI, Mr. McHardy had a distinguished, 30-year career with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) where he most recently held the position of Manager, Maritime Gulf District, in Houston, Texas. He also held positions in Operations, Customer Service, and Business Development with DNV’s Aberdeen, London, and Norway offices. Previous to his time with DNV, Mr. McHardy worked as a seagoing engineer and as a shipyard manager. He received an Ordinary National Diploma in Marine Engineering from Glasgow College of Nautical Studies and is also a graduate of the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), where he received a B.S. in Shipbuilding and Naval Architecture. Mr. McHardy is a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
