Captain Young Kim

Captain Kim became IRI’s Representative in Seoul in March 2007. Prior to this, Captain Kim acted in the capacity of a Nautical Inspector and Special Agent for IRI for many years. Captain Kim is the former Managing Director of Korean Adjusters and Surveyors Corporation (KASCO) where he was responsible for the management of operations. His experience also includes ten years of employment with Hyundai Shipping Co. where he acted in the capacity of Branch Manager in their Tokyo and New York offices. Captain Kim received his degree in Nautical Science from the Korean Maritime University in Busan and has completed courses in Chartering Operation in New York and Ship’s Safe Maintenance courses in Busan at the Korean Maritime Training and Research Institute.
