Republic of the Marshall Islands Registry personnel attended the Springfield Shipping Co.’s Crew Training Seminar held on 15 June 2018 in Athens, Greece.
Seminar attendees consisted of 40 senior officers, including Masters, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers, and Second Engineers. Theodore Lalas, Fleet Operations Manager, International Registries, Inc. (IRI), presented to the group on the topic of port State control (PSC) inspections and the role of the flag State, as well as on how to avoid or rectify common deficiencies. The seminar also included discussions on P&I Clubs and media response in the event of a vessel casualty.
