MSG Holds First Meeting of 2026

The RMI Registry’s Maritime Services Group (MSG) met in Orlando, Florida for the first meeting of 2026. Comprised of team members representing maritime operations, adjacent departments, and the regional offices, the MSG meets throughout the year to review fleet operations, performance, procedures, client services, and to evaluate progress on strategic goals and projects. These meetings are especially critical in coordinating the Registry’s risk-based approach across the fleet.

IRI President Bill Gallagher, Chief Commercial Officer Theo Xenakoudis, and Chief Maritime Officer Simon Bonnett opened the meeting with remarks and updates on the RMI Registry. The Maritime Security team provided a timely update on the evolving activities in the Middle East. The three-day meeting included presentations on the fleet, as well as updates from all maritime and key operational departments, and regional offices. Representatives from Baltimore/Annapolis, Busan, Fort Lauderdale, Geneva, Hong Kong, Houston, Istanbul, London, Long Beach, Majuro, Manila, New York, Oslo, Piraeus, Reston, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Singapore, and Vancouver attended the meeting.

Action items from the MSG meetings focus on the RMI Registry’s strategic goals and often serve to directly enhance client service. The March 2026 meeting focused on the Registry’s risk-based approach to safety, security, and environmental protection. Biannual MSG meetings enhance cross-department cooperation and coordination to consistently deliver excellent service throughout the organization, strengthening the one-team philosophy, supporting seamless client service worldwide.
