Captain Theodore Lalas, Operations Manager, IRI Piraeus, presented at Chartworld Shipping Corporation / V.Ships Cyprus Limited’s Senior Officers’ Training Seminar from 14-15 May 2019 in Batumi, Georgia. More than 50 senior officers joined for his presentation on port State control (PSC) inspections including the role of the flag State and how to avoid common deficiencies. The crew seminar captured other topics, including: tanker hull and machinery damages; proper painting of hull, deck, and machinery spaces; tanker safety aspects; collision avoidance cases; and MARPOL regulations.
