IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry participated in an officers’ forum hosted by Kyklades Maritime Corporation on 23 October 2019 at the Yacht Club of Greece. More than 60 front line shipboard and shoreside personnel attended the forum, including senior officers, engineers, and petty officers. Captain Theodore Lalas, IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry’s Fleet Operations Manager based in Piraeus, discussed port State control issues including the most common deficiencies and reasons for detentions. Other seminar topics included manning; reflective learning activities; health, safety, quality and environment; operations and technical issues, and information technology issues.
