Charity Hikes in Hong Kong

5 November 2016

Two teams from International Registries, Inc.’s Hong Kong’s offices participated in the Sailors’ Society Hong Kong Trek in November, with one team claiming a victory. Racing around Lantau Island, the teams scaled Hong Kong’s second and third highest peaks: Lantau Peak (934 meters (m)) and Sunset Peak (869 m). Team One, consisting of Julian Proctor (Tiger Group), Paul Garwood (KC Maritime), Martin Rowe (Clarksons), and Winton Porter (IRI Hong Kong) completed the 27 kilometer (km) course in just under six hours, taking first place. Team Two, consisting of IRI Hong Kong personnel Adrianna Lai, Laam Ting, Ray Tang, and Bun Chong, finished 12th.

Not content with their six-hour effort for Sailors’ Society, Team One also competed in the 100 km Oxfam Trailwalker race across Hong Kong’s mountain ranges. They completed the course in 27 hours and 27 minutes.
