Alison Wilson

Ms. Wilson joined IRI’s Legal Department in February 2007, was promoted to Associate General Counsel in 2008, and then to Senior International Counsel and Senior Vice President in 2014.  As Senior International Counsel and a Senior Vice President, she plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's interests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and mitigating risks across various aspects of its operations. Ms. Wilson is a knowledgeable legal professional with experience in providing strategic guidance as in-house counsel. With a background in corporate and employment law, Ms. Wilson brings a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape to IRI. She leverages this expertise to navigate complex legal issues, such as ensuring compliance with international regulatory requirements in the maritime and corporate sectors. During her tenure with IRI, this has included working with the RMI Government on European Union, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, among others. Prior to joining IRI, Ms. Wilson amassed valuable experience with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office in the Department of Labor and Industries. She graduated cum laude from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Political Science and Communications and earned a J.D. cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law. Outside of IRI, Ms. Wilson is actively involved in industry organizations such as the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) where she currently serves as co-President of the West Coast Chapter. She is also a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Maritime Law Association, American Bar Association, and Propeller Club of Los Angeles and Long Beach. *Not admitted to practice in CA, admitted in WA only.
