2020 Efkranti Awards

On behalf of IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry, the Director of Worldwide Business Operations and Managing Director of IRI’s Piraeus Office, Theofilos Xenakoudis presented the Efkranti award for “Overall Contribution to Shipping,” to the Lykiardopoulos Family at the 2020 Ekfranti Award Ceremony. The award was received by Mr. Nikolaos F. Lykiardopoulos on behalf of the family.

The Efkranti award for “Overall Contribution in Shipping” acknowledges the longstanding contribution of the Lykiardopoulos Family (branch of Nikolaos Dion. Lykiardopoulos, 1866-1963) to both the shipping industry and Greek society.

The 2020 Efkranti Award Ceremony took place, for the 12th consecutive year, on Wednesday, 22 July 2020, at the Benaki Museum in Athens, Greece. The event was organized by Naftika Chronika magazine, with the support of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation.

Other honorees included: the TMS Group of Companies for the “Support of the Greek Shipping Entrepreneurship”; Andriaki Shipping Co. Ltd. for the “Aiding in Maritime Education”; Costas and Lydia Carra for “Best Communication Strategy”; Stavros Chatzigrigoris, former CEO of Maran Gas Maritime, Inc. for “Best Manager”; Tzelina Harlafti, Professor of Shipping History at the Department of History in the Philosophical School of Crete University, Director of Mediterranean Studies Institute – Foundation of Technology and Research, Head of Shipping History Center, ΙΜΣ-ΙΤΕ for “International Promotion of Greek Shipping”; and A.M. Nomikos Transworld Maritime Agencies S.A. for “Social Contribution to Shipping.” The Institute of Marine Protection ‘Archipelagos’ was honored with the “Marilena Laskaridi Award” for Excellence at the Shipping Civilization and the Assistance at the Greek Shipping Heritage and Tradition.
