International Registries, Inc.’s (IRI’s) Regulatory Team gathered in London on 7-8 November 2017 for their annual meeting, bringing together personnel from IRI offices around the world. The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) also participated in the meeting. With the RMI Registry’s continued growth in mind, the group focused on improving internal processes to ensure pragmatic implementation of the IMO and International Labour Organization requirements into the RMI Maritime Administrator’s legal and regulatory framework. The importance of proper policy development and the appointment of persons with the right subject matter expertise to the RMI IMO delegations were also discussed.
