Maritime Services Group Meets in Fort Lauderdale

The Maritime Services Group (MSG) held its first meeting of 2024 in Fort Lauderdale in late February. For over a decade, the MSG has met regularly to review and assess fleet performance and operations, share information between offices, and maintain strong inter-office relationships. International Registries, Inc. President Bill Gallagher, Chief Commercial Officer Theo Xenakoudis, and Chief Maritime Officer Simon Bonnett opened the February 2024 meeting with remarks and updates on the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry.

Nearly 60 representatives from Baltimore/Annapolis, Busan, Fort Lauderdale, Geneva, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Houston, Istanbul, London, Long Beach, Mumbai, New York, Piraeus, Reston, Rio de Janeiro, Roosendaal, Seoul, Shanghai, and Vancouver attended the meeting. Along with updates on security, sanctions, safety compliance, and management systems certification, the meeting included focus sessions on trending projects including carbon capture and rotor sails. Days two and three included updates from the regional offices.

Action items and take aways from the February 2024 MSG meeting serve to strengthen the Registry’s client services, bringing together experiences, information, and perspectives from around the world.
