IRI/The Marshall Islands Registry participated in the Springfield Shipping Co. Panama S.A.’s Officers Forum held 11-13 September 2019. More than 65 front line shipboard and shore side personnel attended the forum, including senior officers, engineers, and petty officers.
Captain Theodore Lalas, IRI Fleet Operations Manager presented on port State control (PSC) inspections focusing on deficiencies observed and the role of the flag State. Other seminar topics included fleet safety performance, oil spill response techniques, hazardous material and recycling regulations, cyber security, medical update, behavioral competency, leadership development, media training, purchasing matters, and safety moments, among others.
