A yacht that is described on the Certificate of Registry as a private yacht, is 18m or more in LOA, and has a Compliance Certificate allowing the yacht to be engaged in limited chartering for no more than 84 days per calendar year and which shall carry no more than 12 passengers, is considered a Private Yacht Limited Charter (PYLC).* This program is not available in areas where full commercial compliance is required for charter.

- Declaration of Private Use with Intent to Engage in Limited Charter (MI-127PYLC).
- Application for Minimum Safe Manning Certificate – Yacht (MI-336Y).
- A PYLC Compliance Certificate (PYLCCC) issued by an Appointed Representative (AR).
- Copy of Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) Conformance Test Report for all PYLCs that are Category 0 or Category 1, and are 300 gross tons (GT) and over.
In addition to the private yacht survey requirements, all yachts, regardless of tonnage/age, seeking a PYLCCC must undergo a Compliance Verification by an AR.
The AR must also issue a Record of Safety Equipment and, where applicable, a Tender Statement of Compliance.
