This Yacht Technical Circular outlines the general requirements and scope of survey to comply with the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Yacht Code (MI-103) requirement that unclassed PYLCs and unclassed CYs shall have the outside of the yacht’s hull and related items examined in accordance with the rules of a Classification Society (Recognized Organization (RO)). This examination shall be attended by an Appointed Representative (AR).
This circular outlines the procedures for the transfer of statutory services and Compliance Verifications from one Appointed Representative (AR) (i.e. losing AR) to another AR (i.e. gaining AR). The procedure is applicable regardless of whether the Certification is mandatory or voluntary.
Following an internal consultation between the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator (the “Administrator”) and its Appointed Representatives (ARs), it has been decided that the National Yacht Record of Safety Equipment (RMI Form MI-289 (Form E)) need not be issued to yachts in certain circumstances.
