  This Notice supersedes Rev. 12/09; it has been revised to reflect new guidance on the contents of the medical chest available for oceangoing ships with crews of less than 40 persons and to update the medicines and supplies for carriage onboard fishing vessels, yachts and ro-ro passenger vessels not normally carrying a medical doctor. It also clarifies the application of the medical chest inventories to vessels that normally carry doctors and addresses the disposal of medicines and medical supplies.
