REVISED OFFICER LICENSING
AND SEAFARERS’ IDENTIFICATION BOOK FEES

February 08, 2000 MARSHALL ISLANDS NEWS BULLETIN NO. 2

In keeping with the our resolve to provide the best service at lowest cost to our shipowners, The Republic of the Marshall Islands has reviewed the fees currently being charged for the issuance of Merchant Marine Officers’ Licenses, as well as Seafarers’ Identification Books with Special Qualification Endorsements.

While we are not in a position to reduce each and every fee, we have made a number of adjustments that have resulted in an overall reduction of TEN PERCENT (10%) over the fees previously charged.

NEW FEES EFFECTIVE 01 FEBRUARY 2000

1) All officers at the Management Level of Responsibility:
Master, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer, First Asst. Engineer and
First Class Radio Electronics Operator GMDSS
US$175.00
2) All other officers at Operational Level of Responsibility and
Second Class Radio Electronics Operator GMDSS.
US$150.00
3) Restricted and General Operator GMDSS, and Radio Telephone
Operator and Certified Transcript of officer examination results.
US$ 30.00
4) For replacement of lost or destroyed Certificate of Competence. US$ 30.00
5) For authentication of Proof of Sea Service. US$ 15.00
6) All of the following Special Qualification Certificates:
Able Seaman,Ordinary Seaman, Bosun, Oiler/Motorman,
Firemen/Watertender, GP-1,GP-2, Electrician and Pumpman,
Proficient in Survival Craft/Rescue Boats, Fast Rescue Boat Operator,
Tankerman: Chemical, Liquified Gas, Oil, Crude Oil Washing/Inert Gas,
Advanced Firefighting, Medical Care Person in Charge, High Speed Craft.
