THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MARITIME ECONOMISTS (IAME)
The International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting and facilitating the productive exchange of knowledge, information and experience on economic issues within the wider maritime sector, among academics, professionals, and policy makers. The IAME Annual International Conference is the key forum of the Association that brings its international members closer together, as well as closer to the market, every year. The international conferences of IAME take place in a different country every year, under the academic supervision of a selected academic institution each time. The countries that had the honor to host the IAME Conferences in the last seven years are: Italy (2000), Hong Kong (2001), Panama (2002), Korea (2003), Turkey (2004), Cyprus (2005) and Australia (2006).
